I appreciate your praise and exceptions. I absolutely struggled on the Pearl Jam omissions as I was crazy about both albums you mentioned. I just don’t go back to them quite often enough to push out any of the 75. I think they are still relevant (did a review of Backspacer fairly recently) and I agree they deserve to be represented…I’d be pretty comfortable with any Radiohead album on here including Rainbows but I was following an unwritten rule about avoiding a third album by any one artist.
As for the hip hop and Muse, I never spent any quality time with any of those records but I will seek them out. I can’t stand Coldplay!

Ok… HollandDude,
I am willing to admit this list must have been hard to create. I agree with almost all of your choices, however the problem is there are a few albums missing from this list of 75 that I think cannot be missing even if one of those deserving titles has to be removed. In the 90’s I applaud your craftiness for the combo album Jar of Sap, very clever. Anyway How can you not include a Pearl Jam album, I mean seriously, Ten… Vs. both are total classics from the decade as is the Tribe Called Quest album “Midnight Marauders” and even “Life After Death” by Biggie. I mean look I’m a rock guy too but really all these guys deserve to be on there. In the 2000’s there are a few omissions as well that I think are essential, these are in my opinion the best 4 albums of the decade: Muse’s “The Resistance”, “Rainbows” by Radiohead, “The blue Print 3″ by Jay Z and of course “Viva La Vida” by Coldplay. I mean seriously if they aren’t the best albums of the decade they definitely deserve to be on the list no? Not for nothing but the “Superfly” album was a ballsy move and I applaud you for having the cohonas to put it on the list, a great album for sure. Thanks man for all your hard work and look forward to your next post.

I agree 100%. I’m an old fart and the Uglysuit is the freshes music I’ve heard in a long time. I come from the time of Crosby Stills Nash and Young, The Moody Blues, Pink Floyd and others. I love music and I really get excited when I hear something new. Good job on the review!
